SEK-CAP WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FOR HOMELESS


PROGRAM STARTING JUNE 30TH


Girard, KS –The Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEK-CAP), will begin accepting applications for the Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) program on June 30th, 2014.


To potentially qualify for assistance, applicants must be certified as “homeless” by a social service agency. Additionally, applicants’ income must also fall below the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 8 rental assistance program guidelines, which is $27,400 for a family of four living in Crawford County; the income guidelines vary by county and family size.


SEK-CAP will begin accepting applications for the TBRA Program on June 30, 2014 and will continue to accept them until further notice. To find an application distribution site near you, please call (620)724-8204. Please submit completed applications to the SEK-CAP Housing Department, 401 N. Sinnet, Girard, KS 66743.


The TBRA Program, overseen by the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation, assists qualifying individuals and families with rental subsidies and/or security and utility deposits. The SEK-CAP TBRA Program is used specifically to address the housing needs of those who are homeless or about to become homeless through no fault of their own throughout twelve counties in Southeast Kansas.
